Anzac Upgrade
The Anti-Ship Missile Defence (ASMD) Upgrade Project includes CEA’s CEAFAR phased array radar and CEAMOUNT missile illuminator technology to significantly enhance the self-defence of the Anzac Class Frigates against modern anti-ship missiles. The Phased Array Radar (PAR) System delivered enhanced target detection, tracking and engagement of multiple subsonic and supersonic targets simultaneously.
In the most recent upgrade of the Anzac Class platform, CEA’s CEAFAR Phased Array Radar replaces the SPS-49(V)8 Air Search Radar. The new CEAFAR advanced 3D air search radar and all-mode integrated digital Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) capability was integrated with the CEAFAR anti-ship missile defence system and Saab’s 9LV combat management system to further enhance the surveillance and self-defence capability of the ship.
